Let’s Take Another  Look At Amazing Psalm 83

Psalms 83:1

1 Do not keep silent, O Elohim! (Elohim) Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O Elohim!
2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. (Signifying arrogance and pride)

Initially it will appear that Elohim is completely detached and totally  indifferent to the plans and strategies of the alliance that threatens the destruction of Israel, but His apparent disinterest belies His true intentions. These vicious yet cowardly nations are violent enemies of Elohim. In the New International Version of the Bible, the translation reads, “See how your enemies are astir, (active, busy, frenetic) how your foes raise their heads (in arrogant defiance).

The language is straight out of today’s headlines and the nations lined up against Israel in Psalm 83 inhabited the ancient lands of Israel’s current neighbors. Edom and the Ishmaelites were in the land occupied by southern Jordan today while the territories of Moab and Ammon make up the rest of that country. (While the government of Jordan presently has a peace treaty with Israel, we should remember that some 70% of Jordan’s population is “Palestinian” and in fact the country was formed to be the Palestinian home land).

So here we have all of Israel’s next door neighbors united by a grim determination to totally eradicate Israel. They are not simply haters of Israel and the Jewish State they are also dedicated haters of Elohim, the Holy One of Israel and of His son Yeshua. They fervently hate all Jews and Christians viewing them as infidels fit only for conversion to Islam or death by execution. Islam is directly and fanatically opposed to Israel, Elohim, all Christians and the Kingdom of Elohim that Messiah will establish. Their statements are not empty threats. They fully mean what they say. They are absolutely determined to obliterate Israel.

Psalm 83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones.

Through crafty counsel they pretend to want peace, but at the same time they fanatically and frantically recruit and train terrorists. All their talk about “Peace Agreements are actually “hudnas” i.e. time to recoup and re arm. Asaph said “With cunning, they conspire against your people; they plot and make evil plans against those you cherish.” An aspect of Islamic belief and culture that the Western world still fails to comprehend is that all lies and deceit are acceptable if those deceitful lies further the ultimate cause of Islam. Fanatical Muslims will lie and misinform without hesitation to further their cause. It is therefore impossible to reach a true peace agreement with them because they can relent on their word at any time that best suits their purpose.

Psalm 83:4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

The frequently declared aim of all these Middle Eastern nations is to conquer Israel in the name of Islam. This is the sole purpose that unites them. (All Arabic maps now show Palestine, but not the nation of Israel). These constant declarations and statements are not to be taken lightly. The perpetrators fervently believe what they say and are sufficiently dedicated to Allah to carry out every plan and atrocity they can devise.

Psalm 83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You:

The Arab Alliance of nations conspire (secretly plot) together.  Although some Muslim nations pretend to stand aloof from the more radical and fanatical elements in Islam, ultimately when the lines are drawn they will all stand together against those they perceive to be their common enemies.

Psalm 83:6

6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

This consortium of nations includes Palestinians, (Philistines)  and many citizens of Southern Lebanon (Tyre) who are inspired by terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hizballah. (Their united determined purpose is to possess Eretz Israel)

Psalm 83:8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot.

(Descendants of Hagar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia or Arab-Muslim world including Syria, Iraq, Iran)

Asaph The Prophet Pleads,

Psalm 83:9-12
9 Deal with them as with Midian, as with Sisera, as with Jabin at the Brook Kishon,
10 Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves The pastures of Elohim for a possession.”

Asaph, the writer of the Psalm, cannot resist telling the Lord exactly how he would  like Israel’s enemies to be dealt with. Midian was defeated by a much smaller army under the command of Gideon against a force which vastly outnumbered Israel. It was a case of the Lord turning Israel’s enemies against each other and thus defeating themselves (Judges 8). Oreb, Zeeb Zebah, and Zalmunna were all leaders of the Midianite army defeated by Gideon.

Asaph’s prophetic prayer was that Israel’s current enemies will be just as soundly defeated as were the Midianites and the Canaanites, when their armies were scattered and their leaders executed. When this prayer is answered, Israel will become much larger geographically, with the contention over the ownership of Gaza, the West bank and the Golan finally brought to an end. Israel will become stronger, not weaker, its military reputation restored and even enhanced. The divided land will be divided no more, and Jerusalem will remain a unified city. The controversial security fence will come down, since the borders on all three sides will be safe and the threat of terrorist attacks eliminated. Meanwhile, the Russians and Iranians, who will have fought this battle by proxy, will study the defeat and learn from the mistakes, lying in wait for the next opportunity to strike.

Psalms 83:13-15

13 O my Elohim, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind!
14 As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire,

15 So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. NKJV

The question arises as to whether Psalm 83 is linked to Zechariah 12  or whether that applies to some other scenario? Let’s look at

Zechariah 12:2-3

2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.
3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. NKJV

The enemies of Israel when they launch their attack will begin to act irrationally like drunken men. Their tactics and strategies will be thrown into confusion. In their drunken like stupor and bewilderment they will begin to kill their own allies.

Zechariah 12:6 “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a brazier that sets a woodpile ablaze or like a burning torch among sheaves of grain. They will burn up all the neighboring nations right and left, while the people living in Jerusalem remain secure. NLT

This verse refers to the “neighboring nations” of Israel, right and left. Elohim vows to destroy these while Jerusalem remains secure. Surely this statement concurs with the scene in Psalm 83:13-15.

What triggers this response from Elohim? The answer is found in Zechariah 12:4-5.

4 “On that day, says the LORD, I will cause every horse to panic and every rider to lose his nerve. I will watch over the people of Judah, but I will blind the horses of her enemies.
5 And the clans of Judah will say to themselves, ‘The people of Jerusalem have found strength in the LORD Almighty, their Elohim.’

Zechariah clearly declares that THE LORD (Elohim) will personally intervene to defend the citizens of Jerusalem when they are faced with apparent destruction. He will make the Israeli army extraordinarily powerful in battle giving them the amazing assistance of His heavenly angelic forces.  Messiah Himself (the Angel of the Lord) will fight on their behalf.

Zechariah 12:7-9

7 The LORD will give victory to the rest of Judah first, before Jerusalem, so that the people of Jerusalem and the royal line of David will not have greater honor than the rest of Judah.
8 On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! And the royal
descendants will be like Elohim, like the angel of the LORD who goes before them!
9 For my plan is to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. NLT

Could this mention of tempest, storm and fire refer to the use of  nuclear weapons? Certain scriptures seem to  intimate that nuclear weapons may be used in at least one of the wars predicted in the Bible. E.g

Zechariah 14:12,13

12 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.
13 It shall come to pass in that day that a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor’s hand; NKJV

These symptoms will closely resemble what happened to the citizens of Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan at the close of World War 2 when the eyes of those who watched these horrific explosions dissolved in the sockets. However, Elohim Himself is fully capable of producing such fearful results without man made weapons of destruction. The end result of this terrible conflict will be that world attention will be focused upon Elohim. Devotees of all false religions will be filled with shame and will earnestly seek the face of Elohim.

In the aftermath of this amazing battle, when the tide is suddenly and supernaturally changed in Israel’s favor, a bewildered Israel will look around to see who has achieved this supernatural victory on their behalf.  It is then that they will recognize their deliverer as Yeshua HaMashiach whose hands and side were pierced and they will mourn over Him in great sorrow and bitterness of soul.

An Islamic Alliance Of Nations

This is obviously an Islamic inspired attempt to destroy the modern State of Israel. Through the direct, supernatural power of Elohim Israel is protected and saved. However through this degrading defeat, the powers and influences of Islam are greatly diminished though not totally destroyed. From the remaining system of Islam will eventually arise the Anti Christ, but that beast will be spoiled and damaged.  Millions of people will have been rescued from the grip of Islam and brought into the Kingdom of Elohim.

A Glorious Spiritual Outpouring Zechariah 12:10-11

10 “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on all the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn son who has died. NLT

This appearance is NOT the “Second Coming.”  Rather it is a special intimate appearance of the Messiah to Israel at which time their national spiritual blindness will be sovereignly healed and they will finally see and recognize that the pierced One is their promised Messiah and the (firstborn) Son of Elohim.  This will be a prophetic fulfillment of the moment when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.

Genesis 45:1 Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried out, “Make everyone go out from me!” So no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. NKJV

Ishmael’s Descendants Are Abraham’s Seed Too

Ishmael’s Descendants Are

Abraham’s Seed Too

It is widely recognized by both Jews and Christians that Abraham is the “father” of their faiths. However what is not acknowledged by most Jews and Christians is that Ishmael also is a seed (son) of Abraham.  In the beginnings of the Last Days scenario it is essential that Jews and Christians become freshly aware of this fact and of its ongoing consequences for the world.  Without such an awareness it may be impossible to predict what the result of the current dilemma may be.

The love that Jehovah, the God of the Bible has for Ishmael and his descendants is very clearly seen in the Bible, the sacred book of the Jews and Christians. The Angel of the LORD was keenly interested in Ishmael even before he was born. The title “Angel of the Lord” is frequently used in the Bible to denote a theophany, i.e. an earthly manifestation of God in human appearance. Therefore, it is a very real probability that this was a direct appearance and intervention of Jehovah Himself even the Logos/Messiah on behalf of Hagar.

Genesis 16:11-12

11 And the Angel of the LORD said to her: “Behold, you are with child, and you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has heard your affliction.

12 He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren” (NKJV).

Upon the birth of Ishmael Abraham gave to him the significant name that God had chosen for him. Thus Ishmael and his descendants were forever blessed with a name of tremendous significance which forever links them with the God of the Bible.  Though Jehovah is not the god they presently worship their destiny will be eventually linked to Him.

Genesis 16:15

And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael (KJV).

When the birth of the promised son (Isaac) was delayed, Abraham pled with Yahweh that Ishmael might be recognized instead of the son who had been promised to Sarah. Over the years that followed the birth of Ishmael, Abraham had become very closely attached to Ishmael. They evidently had so much in common that Abraham’s affections has become strongly attached to Ishmael

Genesis 17:18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee (KJV).

Ishmael’s name had within it a guarantee that Jehovah would hear his prayer. This link will be seen again shortly when massive numbers of Ishmael’s descendants cry out to Jehovah. Had it not been for Yahweh’s intervention when Hagar called upon Him in the wilderness, Hagar would have perished, and with her death a premature end would have come to Ishmael and his offspring. In her time of despair Sarah cried out to Jehovah who quickly responded to her.

The Exodus Really Happened!

Archaeologists Discover Remains of Egyptian Army From the Biblical Exodus in Red Sea

admin Africa • Middle East • NEWS • prolife • world • Europe • USA

Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry announced this morning that a team of underwater archaeologists had discovered that remains of a large Egyptian army from the 14th century BC, at the bottom of the Gulf of Suez, 1.5 kilometers offshore from the modern city of Ras Gharib. The team was searching for the remains of ancient ships and artifacts related to Stone Age and Bronze Age trade in the Red Sea area, when they stumbled upon a gigantic mass of human bones darkened by age.

The scientists lead by Professor Abdel Muhammad Gader and associated with Cairo University’s Faculty of Archaeology, have already recovered a total of more than 400 different skeletons, as well as hundreds of weapons and pieces of armor, also the remains of two war chariots, scattered over an area of approximately 200 square meters. They estimate that more than 5000 other bodies could be dispersed over a wider area, suggesting that an army of large size who have perished on the site.

This magnificient blade from an egyptian khopesh, was certainly the weapon of an important character. It was discovered near the remains of a richly decorated war chariot, suggesting it could have belonged to a prince or nobleman.

Many clues on the site have brought Professor Gader and his team to conclude that the bodies could be linked to the famous episode of the Exodus. First of all, the ancient soldiers seem to have died on dry ground, since no traces of boats or ships have been found in the area. The positions of the bodies and the fact that they were stuck in a vast quantity of clay and rock, implie that they could have died in a mudslide or a tidal wave.

The shear number of bodies suggests that a large ancient army perished on the site and the dramatic way by which they were killed, both seem to corroborate the biblical version of the Red Sea Crossing, when the army of the Egyptian Pharaoh was destroyed by the returning waters that Moses had parted. This new find certainly proves that there was indeed an Egyptian army of large size that was destroyed by the waters of the Red Sea during the reign of King Akhenaten.

For centuries, the famous biblical account of the “Red Sea Crossing” was dismissed by most scholars and historians as more symbolic than historical.

This astounding discovery brings undeniable scientific proof that one the most famous episodes of the Old Testament was indeed, based on an historical event. It brings a brand new perspective on a story that many historians have been considering for years as a work of fiction, and suggesting that other themes like the “Plagues of Egypt” could indeed have an historical base.

A lot more research and many more recovery operations are to be expected on the site over the next few years, as Professor Gader and his team have already announced their desire to retrieve the rest of the bodies and artifacts from was has turned out to be one of the richest archaeological underwater sites ever discovered ( via worldnewsdailyreport.com ).

An Impossible Possibility

An Impossible Possibility

In the scenario under consideration, the moral integrity of the God of the Bible is on trial. He has made so many solemn prophecies concerning Israel’s future safety, their return to the land He promised them, and their ultimate spiritual restoration. If He failed to keep these promises, His reliability and trustworthiness would be in serious doubt. If God failed to honor His promises to Israel, what guarantee would Christians have that He would ultimately keep the promises He has made to us? The Bible would be proved to be unreliable and God’s faithfulness would be thoroughly suspect. Such a prospect is utterly impossible.

In the event that the major attack could succeed in its ultimate aim, the religious/political power of Islam would then seek to take over the whole world. Allah would be worshipped under evil duress by the peoples of every nation on earth.  Shariah law would constitute the law in every nation in the world. The ferocity and power of the attack that will be launched against Israel is made clear by the fact that it will obviously require the direct supernatural intervention by God to successfully defend Israel.

During the years since 1948 when Israel was first established, several serious attacks have been launched against her by her neighbors. Each of these attacks were made with the aim of conquering and subjugating the Jewish State. On every occasion there has been evidence of divine intervention on Israel’s behalf  but never yet have these interventions been as spectacular as the intervention described in Psalm 83 and Zechariah 12. The fact that in this future war God deems it necessary to personally take direct action underlines the ultra serious nature of this predicted war.

With every passing day the noose is tightening around Israel’s neck. Her enemies are sitting impatiently on her borders waiting for the psychological moment when they are convinced that the attack they launch will achieve its objective which is the conquest and overthrow of the Jewish State. This is their unrelenting aim from which they will never relinquish their long determined ambition.  The world looks on but none of the nations really understand the seriousness of the situation. When this long predicted event transpires every nation on earth will be powerfully shaken. The world will never be the same again. Instead of suffering a devastating defeat, Israel will be granted an amazing, supernatural victory closely followed by a further astounding event which will culminate in the recognition of the one who delivered the victory who is the long awaited Messiah.  One can understand the ignorance of the nations concerning these amazing events. They have completely ignored the Bible prophecies that predicted this dramatic series of events. What is really difficult to understand is the obvious ignorance of the Church. The prophecy of Zechariah was made roughly 2,500 years ago. However, Daniel did predict that the mysteries of the End Times would be sealed until those days arrived. Now we are actually living in those very days. The prophetic  announcement of Zechariah is now happening before our very eyes. The armies on Israel’s borders are obviously determined to launch a savage attack against Israel that is intended to conquer and vanquish their bitterly hated enemy. Once they have launched this fierce attack, God’s amazing response to it will shock the whole world. God will directly intervene on Israel’s behalf to achieve a supernatural victory that will astound every nation.  However His next action will be even more surprising and will lead to the startling spiritual transformation of both Israel and the Church. It is surely high time to seriously examine the prophecy of Zechariah and to prepare ourselves for the fulfillment of the next event on God’s prophetic agenda.

Do Jews And Christians Have The Same Foundation And Eternal Future?

Both Jews and Christians both claim to have God’s Word, do they have the same religion? The faith of most religious Jews is called Judaism. Judaism  is the oldest of the world’s three great monotheistic religions (that is, religions serving one God). Judaism is the parent of both Christianity and Islam. It proclaims that there is only one God, whose name is Yahweh, and He is the creator and ruler of the universe. He revealed His law, the Torah, to the Jewish people (who were known as Hebrews at that time) and He chose them to be a light for all humanity. The Torah contains some 613 commands which are summed up in the Ten Commandments.

A very important concept in Judaism is that of the Messiah. Originally the Jews believed that God would send a powerful messenger (the Messiah) who would ultimately deliver Israel from her oppressors and usher in an eternal  reign of peace and prosperity. Today many Jews no longer hold to a personal messiah, but hope for a messianic age of justice and truth. For the Jews the coming of the Messiah or the messianic age still lies in the future.

The sacred Scriptures of Judaism consist of three groups of documents: the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings (such as Psalms and Proverbs). These Scriptures also form the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Judaism does not accept the inspiration of the New Testament or its account of the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies.

There are many areas of agreement between the two faiths, for Christians also accept the Old Testament and all its teachings as inspired. Among the basic truths accepted by both faiths are the perfect creation of the world out of nothing by an infinite God, the entrance of sin into this world via the temptation of another transcendent being called Satan, the judgement of God on sin, and the necessity of atonement for sin. In Judaism this atonement is accomplished through sacrifices, prayer, righteous acts, and God’s mercy.

Judaism, however, does not accept the central Christian teaching that Jesus Christ is the Messiah foretold in the Old Testament. This watershed point is made throughout the New Testament and forcefully stated in Galatians 3:13-14, “But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.’ Through the work of Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing He promised to Abraham”(New Living Translation).

All the differences in ceremonies, Kosher food, dress, festivals and worship are not as basic as the messianic expectation and its fulfillment in Christ. Christianity has received from Judaism its basic understanding of God, his covenant relationship with His people, and assembling together for worship. There is a divine plan for history and it is moving toward a wonderful goal when Yahweh will be the King not only of the Jews but of all the earth. Both Jews and Christians will rule the world together as the One New Man of whom Paul spoke. Separation from the corrupting influences of the pagan world is important, but Judaism is not a religion that focuses on a spiritual world somewhere down the road. Its focus is on this present world, where life is meant to be rich and full.

Some Jews who have become Christians refer to themselves as “completed Jews.” In fact, the Old Testament is filled with hope, and the fulfilment of this hope is wonderfully described in the New Testament. Text after text relates how Jesus Christ fulfills all that the prophets foretold. In Him the great promises of the Old Testament become the inheritance of all who accept His salvation. The stream of God’s favour broadens now to embrace believers from every tribe and nation. We all owe a tremendous debt to the Jews. We have inherited so much from them, and from them came God’s own Son, the Messiah. Faith in Him, that is, in His once-for-all death and resurrection is the key to peace of heart now and hope for the future. We can now not only look back on a marvellous history, but forward to the day when His kingdom enfolds people from every land. Is this Messiah also your very own Saviour for time and eternity?

Another Look at the Second Coming!

Very few Christians today show much interest in what is commonly called “The Second Coming” of the Messiah. The ones that do show any interest usually view it as a dim and distant possibility without any link to present reality. Various theologians have long ago developed a litany of ideas and concepts about how it may possibly happen. Most of these ideas favor the idea of a Rapture that will spirit all Christians away to the safety of heaven whilst all those who remain on earth, especially the Jews, will endure another holocaust commonly called The Great Tribulation.” All of the popular ideas concerning what the Bible calls the “Last days” hold out no hope for Israel, except a devastating and disastrous time of suffering and death. Let me admit here that I too believe in the Great Tribulation. However, I personally believe that this dramatic period will actually be one in which Israel will be powerfully and positively used by God to demonstrate the sensational and glorious events that will  elevate Israel, and clearly reveal to all nations, the special favor of God on the nation that He has so often declared to be His special people.

God’s Ultimate Plan For Israel Described In Zechariah 1:14-17

14 Then the angel said to me, “Shout this message for all to hear: ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong.

15 But I am very angry with the other nations that enjoy peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations punished them far beyond my intentions.

16 ” ‘Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I have returned to show mercy to Jerusalem. My Temple will be rebuilt, says the LORD Almighty, and plans will be made for the reconstruction of Jerusalem.’

7 Say this also: ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: The towns of Israel will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem as his own.’ “ NLT

Let’s Examine What This Scripture Promises

  1. It is Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord of heaven’s armies who is speaking, intimating a time of war.
  2. His love for Jerusalem remains passionate and strong.
  3. God will be very angry with the nations that mistreat Israel and Jerusalem. His anger will be manifested.
  4. God will return to show mercy to Israel.
  5. His temple will be re-built in Jerusalem.
  6. Jerusalem will be re-built.
  7. God will again choose Jerusalem as uniquely His own city.
  8. The towns on Israel will overflow with prosperity. Psalms 69:35-36
35 For God will save Jerusalem and rebuild the towns of Judah. His people will live there and take possession of the land.
36 The descendants of those who obey him will inherit the land, and those who love him will live there in safety.

Israel is currently living under an enormously  serious threat of total annihilation. The threat has been announced numerous times by Iran’s leadership  and has the full support of Israel’s closest neighbors. Numerous other nations are giving tacit approval to a plan for a Palestinian State that would surround Israel on every side.  It is a threat that definitely should not be ignored or underestimated. A senior member of the Palestinian Authority parliament recently broadcast a very ominous message regarding Arab sentiments concerning Israel. Be careful to what God is saying.
