Israel’s Prophetic Future

Around the world today, even including amongst many Bible believers, there are very few people with a positive view concerning Israel’s  prophetic future  When they consider the present circumstances in the Middle East, there is very little reason to believe in anything but doom and gloom, with regard to the future of Israel. So few nations are predicting anything positive for Israel in the near future  and years to come. This dark gloom is not derived through studying the Bible, for God has a thrilling and glorious view not only for the immediate future but for eternity.  It is certainly an opportune time to read and study the prophets of the Bible. These prophets have given remarkable predictions that have already been happened in great detail. We may be sure that there are many Bible prophecies that will be fulfilled soon with amazing and even supernatural details. Please let me bring to your attention to just two of the many prophecies yet to be fulfilled.  The reference to the Lord’s house becoming the most important place on the planet is truly remarkable. Far more important than London, Rome, New York or Paris will be Jerusalem on the mountain of the Lord.

Isaiah 2:2-3 (NLT)
In the last days, the mountain of the LORD’s house will be the highest of all— the most important place on earth. It will be raised above the other hills, and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.
People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the LORD’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 45:16-19 (KJV)
16  They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
17  But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
19  I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

If you happen to read this brief message, and you have not yet  realised how close we may be to the fulfilment of these peophesies, let me urge you to immediately study the predictions that God makes through His prophet Isaiah, and various other Bible prophets.  It is becoming increasingly more urgent every day that we fully realise that an abundance of  events around the world are currently fulfilling many Biblical signs which tell us that the Last Days are surely upon us. The fulfilment of many powerful signs, some predicted by Jesus Himself, are being fulfilled right now.  In the words of scripture, “Let us look up” for the time of prophetic fulfilment is already upon use.  We are literally entering the Last Days predicted by the prophets.

A Different Perspective on the Second Coming

Amongst those Christians who sincerely believe in the Second Coming of Christ the Messiah, the majority actually believe that the Rapture, (Catching away to the clouds, (1 Thessalonians 4:17) will constitute the Second Coming. This brief article presents another possibility that is Biblically worthy of consideration. If the expected rapture does happen, that would be wonderful for all Christians, but if there is any other manner in which Messiah’s return might happen it will be a good thing to prepare for such an alternative.

Although the Second Coming of the Messiah to establish His Kingdom in the “Last Days” is declared throughout the Bible, very few Christians today show much interest in what is commonly called “The Second Coming” of Christ the Messiah. The ones that do show any interest usually view it as a dim and distant possibility without any serious link to present reality. Various theologians have long ago developed a list of ideas and concepts about how it may possibly eventuate. Most of these ideas favor the idea of a Rapture that will spirit all Christians away to the safety of heaven, whilst all those who remain on earth, especially the Jews, will endure another horrific holocaust commonly called The Great Tribulation.” All of the popular ideas concerning what the Bible calls the “Last days” hold out little hope for Israel, except a devastating and disastrous time of suffering and death. Let me admit that I too believe in the Great Tribulation. However, I personally believe that this dramatic period will actually be one in which Israel will be powerfully and positively used by God to demonstrate the sensational and glorious events that will  elevate Israel, and clearly reveal to all nations, the special favor of God on the nation that He has so often declared to be His special people. I personally believe that these verses have vital relationship to the Messiah’s Return.

When any Christians do think about the Second Coming they are usually thinking about the so called Rapture, when Jesus will appear in the clouds and draw all believers up to meet Him in the air. But this cannot be the Second Coming to earth because at that time Christ’s destination will not be the earth but the clouds (1 Thessalonians 4:17). However, Jesus will ultimately return to the earth and this will be the Second Coming. Zechariah 1:16 refers explicitly to God’s return to earth.

is God’s Ultimate Plan For Israel Described In Zechariah 1:14-17

14 Then the angel said to me, “Shout this message for all to hear: ‘This is what the LORD Almighty (Sabaoth) says: My love for Jerusalem and Mount Zion is passionate and strong.

15 But I am very angry with the other nations that enjoy peace and security. I was only a little angry with my people, but the nations punished them far beyond my intentions.

16 ” ‘Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I have returned to show mercy to Jerusalem. My Temple will be rebuilt, says the LORD Almighty, and plans will be made for the reconstruction of Jerusalem.’

7 Say this also: ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: The towns of Israel will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem as his own.’ “ NLT

Let’s Examine What This Scripture Promises

1.     It is Yahweh Sabaoth, the Lord of heaven’s armies who is speaking, intimating a time of war.

1.      His love for Jerusalem remains passionate and strong.

2.     God will be very angry with the nations that mistreat Israel and Jerusalem. His anger will be manifested.

3.     God wished to judge Israel using the nations (Goyim) but the nations treated Israel far worse than they ever deserved.

4.     God will return to show mercy to Israel.

5.     His temple will be re-built in Jerusalem.

6.     Jerusalem will be re-built.

7.     God will again choose Jerusalem as uniquely His own city.

8.     The towns of Israel will overflow with prosperity.

Psa 69:35-36
35 For God will save Jerusalem and rebuild the towns of Judah. His people will live there and take possession of the land.
36 The descendants of those who obey him will inherit the land, and those who love him will live there in safety.

Israel is currently living under an enormously  serious threat of total annihilation made by Iran, Egypt and several other Muslim nations. The threat has been announced many times by Iran’s leadership  and has the full support of Israel’s closest neighbors. Numerous other nations (like the US and UK) are giving tacit approval to a plan for a Palestinian State that would surround Israel on every side.  It is a threat that would give Israel huge problems in terms of adequate defense and definitely should not be ignored or underestimated. A senior member of the Palestinian Authority parliament recently broadcast a very ominous message regarding Arab sentiments concerning Israel.

When Will the Church Wake Up?

Israel is currently living under an enormously  serious threat of total annihilation made by Iran, and several other Muslim nations. A senior member of the Palestinian Authority parliament recently broadcast a very ominous message regarding Arab sentiments concerning Israel.  The proposed attack predicted in Zechariah 12 will not only affect Israel. It will have serious repercussions throughout the whole world.  According to Islamic leaders it would obviously be a giant step towards the proposed establishment of the new Islamic Caliphate that Islam plans to launch in Israel with Jerusalem as its capital city.…/abu-mazens-partners-discuss-their-plans.htm

In the scenario under consideration, the moral integrity of the God of the Bible will definitely be on trial. He has made so many solemn prophecies concerning Israel’s future safety, their glorious return to the land He promised them and their ultimate spiritual restoration. If God failed to keep these promises, His reliability, dependability and trustworthiness would be in serious doubt. If God failed to honor His promises to Israel, what guarantee would Christians have that He would ultimately keep the promises He has made to us? The Bible would be proved to be totally unreliable and God’s faithfulness would be thoroughly suspect. Such a prospect is utterly impossible. In the event that the major attack could ever succeed in its ultimate aim, the religious/political power of Islam would then proceed to take over the whole world. Allah would then be worshipped under duress by the people of every nation on earth.  Sharia law would constitute the legal rule in every nation in the world. The ferocity, intensity  and power of the attack that will be launched against Israel is made clear by the fact that it will ultimately require the direct supernatural personal intervention by God to successfully defend Israel. During the years since 1948 when Israel was first established, several serious attacks have been launched against her by her close enemies. Each of these attacks was made with the aim of conquering and subjugating the Jewish State. On every occasion there have been evidence of remarkable divine intervention on Israel’s behalf,  but never yet have these interventions been as spectacular as the action described in Psalm 83 and Zechariah 12. The fact that in this future war God deems it necessary to personally take direct fierce action, underlines the ultra serious nature of this predicted war.

With every passing day the noose is tightening around Israel’s neck. Her enemies are sitting impatiently on her borders waiting for the psychological moment when they are convinced that the attack they launch will achieve its objective, which is the conquest and overthrow of the Jewish State. This is their unrelenting aim from which they will never relinquish their long determined ambition.  The world looks on, but none of the nations really understand the seriousness of the situation. When this long predicted event transpires every nation on earth will be powerfully shaken. The world will never be the same again. Instead of suffering a devastating defeat, Israel will be granted an amazing, supernatural victory closely followed by a further astounding event which will culminate in the recognition of the one who delivered the victory who is the long awaited Messiah.  One can understand the ignorance of the nations concerning these amazing events. They have completely ignored the Bible prophecies that predicted this dramatic series of events. What is really difficult to understand is the obvious ignorance of the Church. However, Daniel did predict that the mysteries of the End Times would be sealed until those days arrived. Now we are actually living in those very days which Daniel predicted. The prophetic  announcements of Zechariah, are now happening before our very eyes. The armies on Israel’s borders are obviously determined to launch a savage attack against Israel that is fully intended to conquer and vanquish their bitterly hated enemy. Once they have launched this fierce attack, God’s amazing response to it will shock the whole world. God will directly intervene on Israel’s behalf to achieve an amazing supernatural victory that will astound every nation.  However, after this His next action will be even more surprising and will lead to the startling spiritual transformation of both Israel and the Church. It is surely high time to seriously examine the prophecies of Zechariah and to prepare ourselves for the fulfillment of the next events on God’s prophetic agenda.

Zechariah 12 is an alarming warning of an event that will happen in the very near future. It will be alarming for Israel’s enemies but exciting for Israel and for the true Church. It may happen in months, not years from now. When it does happen it will capture the attention of every nation on earth so powerful will be the result and repercussions. Immediately following the predicted war on Israel, launched by all of Israel’s closest neighbors, and the inevitable victory procured for Israel, will come the visible revelation of the Messiah to His kinsmen  (Zechariah 12:10). It is absolutely essential that everyone becomes well acquainted with this predicted event. Firstly because of its wide spread impact upon all nations and the predicted ensuing results. Secondly because so many signs all around us today in the Middle East and elsewhere indicate that it will all happen in the very near future.

The Church Must Wake Up!

At present the Church worldwide seems to be largely oblivious and extremely disinterested regarding the significance of what is happening in the Middle East and specifically in relation to Israel. Current world events are happening in line with Bible Prophecy, that predict that a huge spiritual “beast” will arise in the form of an alliance between Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. (See Daniel 2 and 7 and Revelation 13) This beast will be dedicated to the destruction and conquest of the Jewish nation Israel, and the subjugation of all mankind. The beast obviously arises from nations that are Islamic. The world scene is obviously now being set for the final confrontation between the powers of darkness and the kingdom of God. At the same time, God is preparing to gather in the greatest harvest ever. When mankind sees the awesome power of God displayed as He steps on to the scene to rescue and redeem Israel, they will all recognise that Jehovah God is truly the only true and living God. Multitudes from every religion and those with no religion, will then respond to His Gospel and be swept into God’s glorious Kingdom. It is interesting and important to note that in Isaiah 41, the scripture that seemed to confirm the vision, it says clearly that it was “The Lord God, The Holy One of Israel who would perform it to show us things that will happen at the latter end.” The title, “Holy One of Israel” links God directly and overpoweringly with Israel. The validity of God’s holy nature and character is inevitably and eternally linked to His faithfulness to Israel.

Isaiah 41:20-22
20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this and the Holy One of Israel has created it.

21 “Present your case,” says the LORD. “Bring forth your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob.”(Israel)

22 “Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; let them show the former things, what they were, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us things to come. (NKJ)

Israel’s Miraculous Restoration

In the ancient past it was only Jews and a very small number of Christians, who were interested in Israel.  It seemed to be a nation lost in the history of mankind, never to be remembered again. No one appeared to be interested in even the sad history of the sacred antiquity of the desert land where once the Jewish nation had existed. One reason was that prior to 1948, Israel did not exist nor was there the slightest interest  the possibility of reviving a nation that had been in exile for more than 2,000 years. No nation was interested in the reemergence of Israel on to the world scene. However, amongst the several million Jews who were scattered around the earth in more than 200 nations there was obviously a deep yearning for a country of their birth, yet there remained a dream that somehow, one day the nation would arise again, from the dust of history the ancient land whose history and prophetic future were outlined in the Bible. Ancient prophesies given more than 2,500 years ago were considered to have completely disappeared. The possibility of people emerging from so many widely scattered nations, to a land that had been totally neglected for 2,000 years seemed to be a totally  hopelessness dream.

The situation that currently exists in the Middle East now  is more complicated and highly  dangerous than ever before.  Numerous enemy nations sitting on Israel’s border, are continuously threatening to attack and  obliterate  Israel, thus  completely ridding the world of its presence. These Islamic nations have access to many modern weapons that would seem highly capable of achieving such an effect. However, predictions in the Bible speak of an amazing victory that God will achieve for Israel, which will be followed by the unveiling of their deliverer who is the Angel of the Lord who is actually their long awaited Messiah. This revelation is therefore a return of Yeshuah to earth to rescue the Jewish people from threatened annihilation and reveal Himself as Israel’s promised Messiah. In many ways the existence of modern Israel and its present restoration is the greatest miracle of world history. So many factors appeared to make this dream completely impossible, yet is has emerged to become the most remarkable country on earth. It restoration in such a phenomenal manner could have only happened through the miraculous help of Almighty God.

A few Christians today vaguely believe the Bible predictions of an End Times revival and restoration in Israel . The main reason for such a belief is usually found in Joel 2:27-32 (NKJV)   Sadly so many of these people are not demonstrating any real evidence of a vital belief that such a major visitation and harvest will truly happen in the near future.  Despite the obvious chaos and confusion that abounds today, very few Christians are demonstrating any realisation that these circumstances fulfil prophecies that clearly indicate that we are living in the End Times predicted in the Bible.  Let’s read what Ezekiel  declares.

 Ezekiel 36:24-28 (NIV 2011)
24  “ ‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.
25  I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.
26  I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
27  And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
28  Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.
